Movsar Evloev

Movsar Yevloev is a Russian mixed martial artist, number one in the UFC featherweight rankings and one of the few active fighters in the promotion with an impeccable professional record: 20 wins, 0 losses. He will fight for the UFC championship belt for the first time in his career, facing Alexander Volkanovsky at the UFC 333 tournament in Abu Dhabi.Movsar Magomedovich Yevloev was born on February 11 in Ordzhonikidze (now Sunzha), Republic of Ingushetia, Russia. He grew up in a region with deep traditions of wrestling and martial arts. From a young age, Yevloev was engaged in Greco-Roman wrestling and received the title of Master of sports, a serious achievement that confirms his highest level of training. At the same time, he mastered combat sambo, forming a universal base for the transition to MMA.

Yevloev began his professional career in mixed martial arts in 2014. He fought his first ten fights under the auspices of the M-1 Global promotion, winning by submission, knockouts and judges' decisions. In 2019, Yevloev signed a contract with the UFC and made his debut in April of the same year, defeating Seung-woo Choi at a tournament in St. Petersburg. In total, he had ten fights in the octagon and won all ten, beating rivals such as Diego Lopez, Arnold Allen, Aljamaine Sterling and Leron Murphy.

Yevloev's style is based on aggressive grappling and distance control. He averages almost five takedowns in fifteen minutes, one of the best performances in the division. At the same time, his striking technique progresses from fight to fight: precise hands, low low kicks and the ability to work in the clinch make him dangerous in the stance. His style is often compared to Khabib Nurmagomedov's approach — pressure, pace and relentless control on the floor.

The Volkanovsky —Yevloev fight at UFC 333 will be a real test for both: the champion will have to prove that he is still the best in the division, and the undefeated challenger will have to confirm that his unbeaten streak will stand the test of the highest level. This is a special event for Russian fans: Yevloev can become the next UFC champion from Russia. You can buy tickets for UFC 333 on the website.
